Product Description

Thousands of aspiring young popstars have already flocked to auditions all over the country, but only one will make it to the big time. This official book follows hundreds of hopefuls as they are whittled down on camera by a highly critical panel of music biz professionals. The remaining fifty are then put at the mercy of the viewing public who will vote them off, week by week, until there are just two finalists. Televised live from a major London venue, the final two will perform head to head. Later that evening, the result of the public vote will be revealed, and the winner will walk away in a blaze of publicity to start his or her new life as a superstar. Illustrated throughout with exclusive colour photos, this is the behind-the-scenes story of the TV event of the year.

2.0 out of 5 stars Rehash of web site contents..., 4 Mar 2002
By A Customer
I'll freely admit that I was addicted to Pop Idol, and bought this book as soon as it came out. However, I found that the majority of it seemed to be rehashed from the Pop Idol website and various articles that have been in magazines over the last few months. If you haven't been following the webiste or reading the UK entertainment magazines, then you might find this more interesting, but is it really worth its retail price...?

4.0 out of 5 stars A good review of Pop Idol, 12 Mar 2002
By A Customer
This book is a good way to look back at the phenomena that was Pop Idol. Looking back at auditions, finals, the Final 10 etc it covers most of the ground covered in the programme. Theres nothing new however that viewers haven't seen already and its put together a bit ameteurishly, but still its a good read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pop Idol Book, 27 Aug 2003
By Ms. C. Davis "theredtinkerbell" (Exeter) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is great for REAL enthuisasts of the Pop Idol show. Especially the statistics of the voting each week and the interviews with the finalists. The beginning about the auditions wasn't great, but the final 10 stuff is brilliant if you suddenly want to know who sung what each week and what happened. Not to everyone's taste, but still good (for me anyway).
