5.0 out of 5 stars Chaos Child, 9 Aug 2004
Chaos Child is the final installment of the increasingly dark inquisition wars trilogy. The atmosphere as Jaq draco begins to lose his grip on both the events of the hydra conspiracy and himself is suffocating. I found the ending to be shocking and bleak. Although there are loose ends left this only heightens the readers empathy with the confused Inquisitor. recommended to anyone who likes intelligent and thought provoking reading

4.0 out of 5 stars Chaos Child, 2 Mar 2004
By James Ayling (Nottingham, Nottinghamshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
The final part of the Inquisitor War trilogy is something of a let down compared to the previous two books yet is still a better read than most other Sci Fi books.
Starting off straight after the events of Harlequin the book follows Jaq Dracos quest to find the truth about the Hydra conspiracy and the Illuminati. This book is much slower paced and darker than the previous novels and in parts it does begin to drag. The new charecters introduced don't have the same depth apart Lex whos past provides an insight into what Space Marines do when there not rampaging round the galaxy. The book also has a habit of jumping from fast action sections into slow periods of inaction where nothing really happens.
The last third of the book appears to have been rushed and the ending while shocking does lead to a dissapointment and several unfinished questions. All in all a slightly dissapointing end to an excellent trilogy

1.0 out of 5 stars Let Down, 20 Feb 2005
After reading Draco the first book in the Inquisition War Trilogy I eagerly awaited Harlequin and Chaos Child. After reading the second book I thought ok not bad not as good as the first but things can only get better...

Apparently I was wrong I found this book to be one of the most boring and long drawn out books I've ever read. The seems like he had a three book deal but only had an idea long enough for 2 so spreads out the last book so much I could hardly read it. The entire book could have fit into 2 chapters.

I can't find the words to say bad I fell this book is only thing I can say is read the First book but leave it at that since the last one is just so bad I can't bring myself to read any of Ian Watsons other novels.
