Product Description

Review

"- Annapurna Circuit 'Impossible to put down. The descriptions are so vivid and the characters so real I felt it was me and not the author on the trip.' (Amazon customer review)

Product Description

Following three key routes - the classic Annapurna Circuit, the short, but sensational, Annapurna Sanctuary, and the epic trail north into the secretive principality of Mustang- Andrew Stevenson's photographs, maps and text provide a record of the landscape of Nepal's Annapurna Himal, its peoples and the physical experience of trekking.

5.0 out of 5 stars picture perfect, 2 Dec 2003
By A Customer
This book was recommended to me by someone who had already visited the Annapurnas. Having been there now, and just come back, Nepalese Journey is deservedly the bestselling photographic book in Kathmandu. The images capture so much of the experience, not just of the mountains, but the whole thing: the local people, the trekkers, the bhattis or tea-houses, the trail, everything. If we could all take photos like Stevenson has, we wouldn't have to buy a photographic book. Having the book at home now is a fantastic memory of my trip around the Annapurna Circuit.

5.0 out of 5 stars a magnificent portrayal of the people and mountains, 12 Jan 2003
Having just returned from doing the Annapurna Circuit I found A Nepalese Journey in the bookstores in Kathmandu. It's a magnificent portrayal of the Nepalese people and the mountains. If you've done the trip, it'll replace your photo album and if you haven't already done it, it'll entice you to go. I've got it proudly displayed at home so that my friends and relatives can share in the trip I did.
