Synopsis

The strong lyrics, humour and thoughtful plot make it suitable for junior school or older. Young Mary has potential single-parent status, smug angels are shocked at the thought of a low-born child about to be important in heaven and Joseph is wondering how to cope with life not being as straightforward as he hoped. An advantage of such strong music and rhythms is that whilst it works on a small scale, it can work equally well when large numbers of children are involved.
