These easy-to-perform scripts are mainly action-based, with flexible casting and choral narratives. Each play is complete with five preparatory "beyond the script" sections. These non-linear building blocks explore elements, covered in the introduction, to familiarise the children with the material, including: character development, biblical application and dramatic techniques such as staging, costumes, creating effect, pitfalls and tableaux. There are also suggestions for extension material, including songs, poems and Bible readings. This book is designed for adults working with 7-11s in both the church and primary education. The five plays are each geared towards specific year groups.
About the Author
Stephanie Jeffs is an established author with more than 13 publications to her name. Her books have been published in more than ten languages. A trained teacher at secondary level, she teaches drama professionally across the age spectrum 5-18. She also leads drama sessions for churches and youth groups as well as directing plays for amateur groups and writing sketches to specific commissions. Stephanie has also contributed to SU's SALT programme for the 8+ age range.
