As a nursery supervisor I have viewed many books, all of which relate to similar story lines. However, I have found this book to be extremely useful as it is user friendly due to the fact that, the main introduction explains how to use the book clearly.
This book also offers step-by-step instructions of how to organise the formation of the play on a week-by-week basis. I believe the book is realistic due to time constraints of organising the play around everyday activities that take place within nursery hours. In addition to these factors the book also offers three individual plays, which relate to varying ages of children.
Some major benefits in this book is that a background story is provided which is useful in a way that the children can relate to and learn in meaningful concepts. An exact script is also provided which is appropriate for the age ranges shown.
Other beneficial factors include; photocopiable sheets that are provided which aids the build up to the actual play and the fact that an actual stage plan is shown which is useful for first time organisers. Overall I believe the layout and quality is of a very high standard and is good value for money.
