Mark Manning (or The Artist Formerly Known As Zodiac Mindwarp) treats us to a rollercoaster ride i.e. what it must be like inside his head... For those who have read 'Bad Wisdom', imagine his pieces raised to the nth power. And then again. And then once more for good measure. Great moments of rock apochrypha are repeated (just who was that woman in the floaty skirt? ;-) ) and woven into the tale. Zodiac himself, of course, gets all the best lines, though the usual suspects (Bill D, Gimpo) don't do so badly. The funniest thing I've read all year. And then some.

Sex, violence, sex, rock and roll, sex, and more violence, 17 May 2000

Mark Manning, known as the loveable Zodiac Mindwarp to most people who remember, treats us to a tender love story about a sex starved teen age groupie and the trials and tribulations she has with her 45 year old rock god boyfriend, and the jealous rival bandleader who tries to take her away. Great cameos by Bill Drummond, Zodiac Mindwarp, and even Steven Wells. I had to have this imported to the United States as no "decent" bookstore would carry it here. THAT should tell you something!
