Synopsis

Feisty young heroine Bella Balistica on her next exciting adventure, this time in India, in the second thrilling book in the Bella Balistica series. When her mum gets a new boyfriend, Bella's world is turned upside down. "I don't need a father figure," Bella complains. "I have a father!" While on holiday in India, Bella discovers sinister forces are conspiring to steal her precious pendant and mystical powers. Lurking behind the scenes of the touring Mumbai Circus, the Quetzal reveals a formidable enemy - Diva Devaki, the acclaimed impresario, acrobat and illusionist. But all is not what it seems. Can Bella outwit the spellbinding Diva, heal the rift with her adoptive mum, and finally meet her elusive birth father face to face?

5.0 out of 5 stars Bella Balistica and the Indian Summer, 31 Mar 2005
By A Customer
The feisty heroine returns and doesn't disappoint in this sequel to Bella Balistica and the Temple of Tikal. If you're looking for excellent pace, plot and character and something to ease the bedtime blues, this is it.

My 10 year old loved it. We read a chapter each night to begin with but by the middle we just couldn't wait to find out! Bedtime got earlier and earlier. Fantastic!

A cleverly constructed plot means you are left guessing right up to the final chapter. The fiendishly seductive Diva Devaki is a wonderful creation of magic and illusion and a worthy adversary to the impulsive Bella. Adam Guillain masterfully takes the reader along with Bella on her latest rollercoaster voyage of adventure and self-discovery and leaves us more enchanted than ever with the young Guatemalan girl.

When is the number 3 coming out?!!
