The spectacular Lightning was the only supersonic fighter that was designed and built in Britain without co-operation from overseas partners. Many of the photographs in this book were taken in the 60s when the Lightning was in service. Some are air-to-air shots taken by the pilots themselves.

This is a great book. The photos within are mainly taken by pilots or ground crew which provide some superb shots. If you want real action photos and wonderfully evocative shots of a great aircraft at work then buy his book. Some of the best are the take off photos on a wintry morning or of a formation take -off taken from the lead aircraft seconds after rotation - Fantastic! If you are looking for more than posed air to air shots I would recommend this.
