If you want to know anything about Soviet or Russian military aviation, look up no other than Yefim Gordon. His knowledge in this area is second to none and his publications are highly praised around the world. I own several books from Yefim Gordon and they are all of very high quality. My comments on this book is similar to those I gave to "MiG-29 Fulcrum" in this site.

This book simply has everything you want to know about the SU-27 Flanker. It is even more advanced and versatile than the already outstanding fighter MiG-29. The organisation and presentation of this book is like a bibliography on SU-27 with detailed description on how it was born, its development over the years, the variants and the background information. The section on the variants of SU-27 is most interesting as this aircraft is capable of performing various military duties. Apart from the wealth of content, the pictures are very rare and show a lot of details of the aircraft. The colour-plates are brilliantly presented and the line-drawings are very precise and informative. I have read several good books on SU-27 (by Jon Lake and others) but this one is the best yet.

A good book on the subject with just enough detail to satisfy but not too much to overwhelm. The photographs and diagrams are superb throughout.

This book describes Su-27 fighter plane and all its variants which were derived from it. There is also described the development of this plane. The book is also full of good colour pictures and information,which were top secret during the Cold War. If you are interested for details of Su-27 this is the right book for you. I would also reccommend the books such as Soviet X planes,Su-27 (Lock On) and MiG-29 Fulcrum.

The Su-27 was first discovered by the American spy satellite in the eighties.Although almost 20 years of its use it remains one of the best fighter planes in the world. Read more
