The courage of this explorer is exemplary – the challenge of the mountains and his battle against his physical reserves are told through the vision of his Zen philosophy. A wonderful adventure excellently written.

The detail, the wealth of information provided, the expertise Mr. Shulman shared along with the pictures all lent themselves to really being there vicariously - with the people, the diverse culture, eating and smelling it all in. I definitely would recommend this Book to Travelers as well as Teachers who want their Classes to know and learn more about a land that so few of us really understand."
