5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking!, 7 Oct 2005
UK on a g-string is hilarious! You'll laugh out load whilst reading about New Zealander Justin Brown's adventure around the UK, he goes from Cheltenham to Edinburgh and on, armed only with a guitar and two songs, 'Kentucky Fried Kitten' and 'Harry Potter,' his mission is to busk door to door until he has enough cash for a flight home! Why? Well it's all because he lost a bet over a Rugby match and as he's a man of his word he did it! A great travel read that will make you laugh, I highly recommend you read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Those poor birds!!!, 23 Jan 2006
I say those poor birds becuase I'm still mortified by the chapter in which Justin Brown plucks (sorry, ELECTRICUTES first! Then plucks!) live turkeys. It's the most hideous, hilarious and damn right disgusting thing I've ever read. But I couldn't put it down. I see many otehr readers have talked about Justin's door to door busking experiences - and justifiably so - but things like turkey plucking, been chased by imaginaery cats down the streets of York, having a beer with Britains most well known busker, and sharing a green room with Enrique Englesius Spelling?) in the green room at Richard and Judy, also provide really sharp literary fodder. Very, very entertaining read - but I'm glad I wasn't him! Cheers, Cris

5.0 out of 5 stars Chuckled along with 'UK on a G-string', 2 Aug 2004
In similar ilk to Tony Hawks 'Round Ireland with a Fridge', Justin Browns 'UK on a G-string' is a very well written and highly amusing story! Best of all, it's true - the mad Kiwi (he's from New Zealand of all places!) actually DID do this bet (seriously, a top effort!?). Definitely, a funny insight into UK life - the people and places and how they react to something out of the ordinary! ;]

I'm currently on his second book 'teed off in the USA' (his goal was to play golf across America with whoever happened to feature on the front page of the newspaper in each town he visited!?) which is reading just as well (really funny, easy style to follow).

If you want to be amused, I can highly recommend this book/author. Read it on holiday, on the loo, or on the train to bring a smile into your day. Then, leave it on your coffee table or pass it around your friends, family and office workers (would make a good Xmas present for someone too!)...
