As a fledging author this book gave me not only the confidence to continue on the lonely path of becoming an author but also seemed like a silent coach giving me the encouragement to continue.Mr Baker takes you slowly and carefully through 'everything-you-need-to-know-but-were-afraid-to-ask', slipping occasionally into the psychology of selling.In his previous life he was a sales manager, so was I, so his sales techniques stood me in good stead.As much as you might hate the concept (and a lot of authors do) sell you must, as without that certain skill your words stay on the computer and never reach publication.On bad days he offers condolences but better than that easy, useable suggestions for keeping-up your energy. Enjoyed his every word and he kept me motivated on lonely, desperate days.
