This is the official companion to seasons 5 and 6 of the hit TV series spin-off from the blockbuster action-adventure movie Stargate. Colonel Jack O'Neill, leader of an elite military team, tries to learn the secrets of the Stargate, a mysterious ancient portal that allows instantaneous travel to remote planets throughout the universe. Following on from Stargate SG-1: The Illustrated Companion, Volumes 1 and 2, which covered seasons 1 to 4, comes volume 3, coming right up to date, with full details of all the episodes in seasons 5 and 6! Featuring more exclusive new interviews with all the cast and crew, giving the in-depth, inside story of the hit sci-fi show; story synopses are followed by extensive commentary and detailed behind-the-scenes information.

5.0 out of 5 stars A super SG-1 Book, 2 Sep 2001
By A Customer
Superb book. It combines reviews of each episode from the first two series and comments from the cast and crew to go along with the episode. There are actor interviews and profiles and artwork of the main episodes. There's even how they make the costumes and special effects. Can't wait for the next volume due out next year. No SG-1 fan can be witout this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but a little bland, 21 Dec 2003
By Richard Marsh "Midnight" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
'Good' sums up this book quite well. It is a comprehensive guide to every episode, and includes character/actor profiles and short interview pieces. However, it is struck by the curse of the official companion: It is neccessarily bland, unable to make negative comments on anything and required to support the view of the producers and the network in glossing over Michael Shanks' departure and other points. Essentially little more than a good episode guide, I would reccomend instead Keith Toppings' unofficial rival book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Want the low - down on SG-1 series 1 & 2? Then this is it!, 12 Oct 2001
By May Hemer "Inky" (Lancashire, England) - See all my reviews
Having been stupid enough to miss the whole of the first series and frustrated that it wasn't available on DVD, this book filled in most of the gaps. It also gives loads and loads of background info on the making of sg-1. Well worth every penny. Can't wait for the next volume...
