Thirty-six years before Jango Fett's death, on the planet Concord Dawn, the mercenary group known as the Mandalorians are split by a deadly internecine conflict. Some follow Vizsla, who believes they should conquer the galaxy, others Jaster Mereel, a reformed murder and ex-leader who believes the Mandalorians are simply soldiers. 5.0 out of 5 stars AWSOME!, 2 Feb 2003
This book is a great story of four "open seasons" in Jango fett's
life telling his tale from childhood to being approached by Count dooku on bogden.
The book contains great artwork and a good story-line.
A must for any Jango fan.

3.0 out of 5 stars Jango Fett - in need of a new hope?, 25 Nov 2002
In this graphic novelisation, originally released by Dark Horse as four separate comics, we follow the journey of Jango Fett, Attack of the Clones’ blue bounty hunter, from childhood to his meeting with Count Dooku as the last of the Mandalorians, where he is chosen as the prime clone for his secret army. The story, told as a series of flashbacks, takes us through four separate stages of Jango’s life, watching him rise up the ranks as a warrior, witness the deaths of those close to him and survive epic battles, always hunting his arch enemy Vizsla. Each of the four stories takes place against the backdrop of one of the four seasons, hence the name, every season revealing a new element or facet of his life, and in that much the story works better as four parts rather than one whole story. We witness the story against sun-lit skies, dying trees, and best of all in the deep snow, all in a variety of different locations. In truth, this isn’t the most interesting story and will be disappointing to anyone expecting a similar standard to any of the five star wars films. However, this is the only true way to learn about Jango Fett before his [role]in Clones, and explores the many avenues of his complicated and mysterious personality, including his hatred for the Jedi, and his constant need and loss of a father figure, which perhaps explains his request for an unaltered clone, Boba, as his son. Jango Fett is a very interesting character to explore and I liked the story enough to want to buy all parts of the story first time round. The artwork by Ramon Bachs and Raul Fernandez is lush and up to the usual standard, beautiful in parts, taking us to parts known and never seen before – the night lights of Coruscant among the more familiar locations. Anyone intrigued by Jango’s one film cameo in the Star Wars saga, or fans perhaps disappointed by the early Boba Fett novelisations being rendered obsolete by the addition of the clone storyline in the latest film, can’t go wrong.
