Product Description

Product Description

The hit animated TV shows Beast Wars and Beast Machines introduced a whole new generation to the 'robots in disguise' and now, at last, the stories that came before those shows can be seen again in their world-shaking glory. The war with Unicron reaches its apocalyptic conclusion, but even if the Transformers win - they lose. Their world, Cybertron, is coming apart, shuddering in its death throes, the fragile alliance between the Autobots and the Decepticons is on shaky ground, and the inhabitants of Earth tremble before the power of the utterly insane creature known as Galvatron. With Optimus Prime missing in battle it might finally be the day when all hope is gone!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the end, my friend..., 5 Jan 2002
Unicron finally comes to Cybertron to destroy his ancient enemy, Primus, and the only thing that can stop him is a united transformer race. The problem is, how do you forget 5 million years of animosity and warfare so easily?
Faced with the destruction of everything they know, the Autobots and Decepticons are forced into an uneasy alliance to save their very souls. These comics deal with the battle itself (beautifully drawn by fan favourite Geoff Senior) as well as the aftermath; the decay of the alliance, the return of Megatron, and ,yet again, the death (and subsequent rebirth) of Optimus Prime.
The last 5 issues of the US marvel comics Transformers series (issue 80 featured the cover line "#80 in a 4 issue limited series", proving how successful it had been following its initial 4 issue run) collected into one volume. These issues haven't been reprinted anywhere since the UK comic ended in the early 90s. And was it worth the wait?
HELL YES.
These comics are true classics in every sense of the word; full of emotion, tension, and even humour, rarely attriubted to this kind of comic. Simon Furman took a toyline and succeeded where so many others have failed: he made people CARE about it.

4.0 out of 5 stars The best comic in the world, probably., 28 Sep 2001
By A Customer
All Fall Down, the conclusion to the original Transformers comic series, contains some of the most breathtaking writing and artwork ever presented in a narrative aimed originally at children. Furman's characterisation of Optimus Prime et al is so powerful that you forget that they are robots; the characters jump out of the page and become living breathing beings fighting for their very survival. Combined with Geoff Senior's evocative art and the final apocalyptic storyline, this book (along with its precursor All Fall Down) is a must for long-time Transformers fans and newcomers alike. A slightly rushed ending (to comply with Marvel's decision to wrap up the series) only detracts slightly from the sense of pure excitement and energy End of the Road provides. On a par with Watchmen, in my humble opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars completely unmissable work of art., 26 Jan 2002

for a transformer fan there can be few things more exciting than the release of this graphic novel. the very last part in the epic story of transformers. long term fans like myself will find moments incredibly sad, getting to see optimus primes mouth(in a truly shocking scene) and old favourites being destroyed in very moving scenes. lots of stories happening at once make this a very difficult book to put down. very intelligently made and well scripted, this is not by any means a kids comic book.i just really hope every comic is made available in this format, there's not really anything bad i can say about it, its that good...
