This is the follow on to the Companion for seasons 1&2. As with the first one it is packed full of information -a short synopsis for each episode giving a brief outline of its story,followed by interviews and behind the scenes highlights.As with the first companion the photos and illustrations aren't in colour -which is a shame but the rest of the contents more than make up. Personally for me this second book is better than the first. The interviews with the crew and cast are a lot more candid this time including a deserved insight into Teryl Rotherys character, Dr Fraiser. Recurring characters include Martouf,Sgt Siler and a funny story told by Gary Jones who plays Sgt Davis (the guy who encodes the chevrons!)Lots of interesting info on set designs ,visual effects ,costumes and locations make this book a perfect companion for any Stargate fan. I'll certainly be getting the companion for seasons 5&6 in 2003!!!!

I have eagerly awaited this book since the beginning of the year and cannot understand why the publishers held it back as it only covers seasons 3 & 4 not season 5 as promised. Nonetheless I love it anyway! A few colour shots would have enhanced this book tremendously and I would have been prepared to pay more for the priviledge. It follows the same formula as the first volume with episode synopses and anecdotal details by the cast and production team. The addition of a contribution on J R Bourne (Martouf) is a nice touch though! I suppose I'll just have to wait for book number three!!

After waiting nearly 6 months for this to come out, I was expecting something fantastic. And, OK, so there's all the basic information there (guest stars etc) but there could have been so much more - bits of gossip and funny stories would have enhanced it loads as would some colour photos of things like the set for Netu and the underwater world in "Watergate". But I do like the funny bits of dialogue in the margins and the fact that lots of different people from the show have contributed, which I suppose you only get with an 'official' book. But overall it's worth having. Roll on volume 3!
