Threat of existence and friendship between enemies, 8 Nov 2001
By A Customer
I remember when i read this as a kid and knowing it was going to end ,it was heart breaking some of my heros never to be seen again, until now. This is where it got epic porportions, and epic is not enough, Its a clossol battle,a hopeless batle, with a frigile aliance between the Autobots and Decepticons, they created this alliance because something big is threatening there homeworld , "Cybertron" and there very existence : Unicorn . He will stop at nothing to destroy Cybertron and its inhabitants, and the Autobots and Decepticons will stop at nothing, even sacrificing themselves to defend there homeworld, We see bravery sacrifice and heroism ,we also see friendship in all that chaos ,friendship between two enemies. I cant say anymore otherwise ill ruin the story, get the book read to ur childeren ,remind yourself of your childhood. Buy it

Buy this book!, 24 Jan 2002

I LOVED the book when it first ran this storyline, which actuall began in #56, and ended in #80. I was there when the titanic storyline first began, as well as when it ended. This arc dominated my elementary school days. I realized, as the story progressed, that this was not the typical storyline to be read in a supposed "children's book". I knew that one day these worthy stories would see the paperback collections they very much deserved. And last August was the beginning of that day. I think I was one of the few of my generation(I'm 22 now) who was highly devoted to the transformers, especially once the show was cancelled. All we had in the US was this epic storyline to rely on; and it was QUITE thrilling! For those new TF fans who have bought All Fall Down, you MUST pick up End of the Road, Primal Scream, and Matrix Quest once they're available! The correct order to read this titanic marvel tale is "Primal Scream", "Matrix Quest", "All Fall Down", and "End of the Road". TRUST me, you will NOT be disappointed! I'm buying all 4, even though I still have the original issues as they were being published! Do NOT miss your chance on these paperbacks! I'M not! My only complaint(not a huge one) is the occasional switching of artists. Aside from that, this is one HECK of an epic!

Great Fun, buy now?, 14 Oct 2001

I'm a huge Transformers fan and I have wonderful memories of one of the only decent comic series you could get as a kid in the UK. This was therefore an essential purchase (even though this final arc happened a couple of years after I left it). I'd say I was 90% undisappointed. The story is very well told and, as another reviewer points out, it was essentially a kid's book at the time so it's even more of a suprising (and great) tale. The concept is the kind of thing you came to expect as one of those future/alternate universe tales that popped up in the TF anuals. Except it's not and it's much more epic than they ever were! I already look forward to the next book, poor Grimlock seems to have an air of inevitable tragedy around him especially. Now my only gripe. The art. I'm a huge comics fan and I'm sure my memory of TF comic art isn't too bad. Yet I can't help feeling that some of this is sub-standard. On closer inspection the pencils are actually fine, they range from ok to pretty good and they certainly have the required TF feel to them. The inking and colouring is what lets it down. The colouring buget never seemed to be very high on TF comics and it certainly seems to be in effect here. The inking on the other hand has no excuse and some of it really doesn't do justice to the pencils. However, in reprint form some of the art can come out unfavourably, plus it is from what was by then a low priority title. Definetly an essential purchase for TF and comics fans alike though.
