Product Description
Synopsis
From the World Cup-winning days of Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters to today's highly acclaimed trio of Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and Michael Carrick, West Ham United supporters have always hailed homegrown Hammers with the greatest affinity and affection. With talent such as Trevor Brooking, Tony Cottee, Paul Ince and Rio Ferdinand (the world's most expensive defender following his #18 million transfer to Leeds United) also being produced through the club's ranks since the 1960s, the Hammers can rightly lay claim to having one of the country's most fruitful youth policies. "Claret and Blue Blood" brings together all these characters and more for the very first time, using interviews to present biographical pieces that collectively tell the story of West Ham United's evolution since the 1960s.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect book a true Hammer!, 9 Oct 2002
Having followed the Irons for nigh on 45 years now I can't reccommend this book highly enough. It's not just the depth of information but the real 'behind the scenes' feel you get for each of the players' experience of the club. Some of the revelations from older ex-players and more notably more recent coaching staff are straight from the heart and full of what us fans love - the truth about the club! With so much dross out churned out about our club nowadays it's good to see some grit!
