5.0 out of 5 stars Hachette WIne Guide Scores Every Time, 1 Sep 2005
If you're interested in French wine, there is no better guide to take you around France than Hachette. The Guide is divided in to the principal wine area and then by appelation. There are good indexes allowing you to search by wine name, producer or appelation. The wines are starred, with 3 stars being the best and sapringly given. Frankly, all of the starred wine makers are good. The tasting notes are unfailingly accurate - unlike some of a more transatlantic nature - and can be relied on to guide you to making a good wine purchase. Addresses and telephone numbers are given for all wine producers in the guide together with an indication of when you can taste and whether or not you have to make an appointment. In short it is indispensible on any French holiday. Wherever you are, you can open the Guide and se who the best local producers are and toddle off for degustation et vente. If the Guide rates it, you won't be disappointed.
