The items are divided either by period, style or designer, focusing on identifying characteristics and covering a broad range of pieces, with the emphasis on what is most collectable and why. Every item in the guide has a price range and is illustrated in colour, with details of design, materials and condition. Fact Files provide tips for collectors, information on fakes and forgeries and advice on building up and preserving a collection of costume jewellery.
