I made this New Zealand Lonely Planet purchase (print Sept 2008) solely because the previous print that I held had been updated. On balance, this was a wise decision this time, as the layout had undergone a change - an improvement, and the entries for activities, tours, and sleeping etc reflected the latest position. The only downside, albeit minor when you got used to it, was that a section of 32 pages had been bound out of order in the book. I couldn't be bothered to complain as I was shortly due to leave the country with the book.

We were very disappointed with this book. We have recently returned from a months holiday in New Zealand And found the book very little use. The information on campsites was virtually non-existent and the same on restaurants closing times. The fact that NZ restaurants close very early was not mentioned. Fortunately Britz, who we hired the campervan from included an AA guide which we found very useful and would recommend.

Excellent book and a real bargain! Much cheaper than in the shops! It is small enough to carry around and has some top recommendations. I agreed with their reviews and used it to book all my accomodation and in choosing where to eat. Highly recommended!
