5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide with accurate details, 26 Feb 2005
This guide is written by a couple who live in Dubai. It contains good background information on the history of the city and practical information.
The writers manage to convey their enthusuiasm for the city and give informative, accurate and up to date recommendations of where to visit and what to do.
The book is suitable for first time visitors but also contains facts that those who know Dubai (or think they know it) may not be aware of.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but ....., 21 Oct 2006

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Good but as with all travel guides you need the latest edition and this one is a bit dated. Dubai is changing so fast you must keep up to date.I also prefer smaller size guides that will fit the pocket. Lonely Planet is a bit too large to carry especially when the temperature is ove 100 F. But if you plan to go you must do the Big Bus Tour. It is the best introduction to the city.
