3.0 out of 5 stars A Good General Introduction to Belize, 8 Feb 2005
This guide is an invaluable reference for anyone visiting Belize. It covers the majority of the country's varied attractions with the usual Lonely Planet rigour. There are detailed and useful descriptions of the many aspects of Belize and Belizean life that are very helpful in understanding this unusual country.

Where the book lets itself down though, is that it tends to sick to a matter-of-fact approach and does not manage to portray the country with the same passion and enthasism that is so characteristic of the Belizean people.

It is also noteworthy that the phone numbers for all accommodation in this edition pre-date Belize's rather cryptic national phone number change which means that phone number dialling usually involved a degree of guess work.
