Product Description

Synopsis

When monsters need a makeover, they head for the one place that can make it happen. Hollywood. Book 1, Monsters in Hollywood series. Luke is desperate to save his people. A lifetime of sneaking in to human houses and watching movies has convinced him that if he can make a great movie about monsters, humanity will change its opinion of them. With his friends at his side, all in shiny new human bodies, Luke heads for Tinsel Town. A rising Hollywood producer, all-business Lena knows a good story when she sees it. Luke? He's just another amateur who wants to get famous. But Luke's too gorgeous to pass up. And there's something vulnerable about him that leads her to throw caution to the wind and invite him to dinner. One night of incredible sex later, Lena wakes up next to the surprise of her life. She's sleeping next to a monster. Literally. Appearances aside, she finds herself wanting to help Luke save his people. But they've got more to worry about than just human prejudice. Some of the monsters would rather stay in the closet--and to make them all stay there, they're willing to kill. Warning, this title contains the following: multiple orgasms, spanking, misuse of kitchen utensils and sex with monsters.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Monsters in Hollywood" series book 1 , 3 Jan 2009

(TOP 50 REVIEWER)
Lena, Jane, Margo, Cali and Akta, best friends and confident twenty something year olds have successfully set up their own production busines; specialising in producing artistic, independent movies and tv series. When they are approached by three incredibly handsome men requesting they tell their secret through the medium of film, all the women remain uninterested in a probable heart warming story of male friendship. These three men; Luke, Michael and Henry may be gorgeous but Calypso Productions maintains stringent standards; however when Luke requests a less intimidating setting to pitch his story, Lena finds herself inviting him out for dinner.

The mystery deepens when Luke remains unwilling to disclose his secret yet reveals he hopes that a movie depicting his, Michael's and Henry's lives will help change any human misconceptions about them. Curiosity (and sexually) aroused, Lena invites Luke back to her home where they indulge in a (what Lena assumes will be a one off) strenuous session of some seriously hot sex; however left tired and depleted by his new lover, Luke unconsciously releases the spells woven about him and when sleep claims the pair, he transforms back to his true gargoylesque shape.

Although this pair rush straight into a deeply sexual relationship, LD does not neglect the realistically deepening emotional bond between Lena and Luke as they begin to fall in love despite their major differences and personal vulnerabilities. There is also plenty of humour injected into the story line which at times is a welcome relief from the abundance of steamy bedroom (and kitchen, and living room and a friend's patio) action which takes place. Some scenes are outrageously funny; Luke's introduction to condoms and his first experience of sex in a human body, his fight with Lena when she awakens to find him in his true form and is convinced he has eaten Luke and how he and his movie addict monster buddies acquired their human names.

Each monster is unique and I enjoyed the fact that LD does not reveal exactly what Henry and Michael are. The reader is made aware that like Luke, Henry also has wings; however Michael's remains a complete mystery, although apparently his true form has a "great presence in human mythology". Although only available in e-book format, I sincerely hope book 2 of this series makes it into print in the near future; "My Fair Monster" featuring Jane and Michael.
