I was very disappointed by this book, which is really little more than a rehash of the writer's earlier publications. It's good as a basic guide but I'd got past that stage and was looking for tips on advanced gameplay. Sadly this book starts with a basic explanation of the game and goes through the routine stuff - explaining how doubling works and covering early rolls, middle games and endplay in relatively simplistic form. So if you want a start out text, this is decent (Chris Bray IS a very good writer on backgammon) but if you really want to play Backgammon for Blood I would recommend some of the books by Bill Robertie, also available from Amazon. His book: "500 Essential Backgammon Problems" is particularly helpful.
