You want to write games in Blender, you'll NEED this!, 10 Nov 2003
Blender is a phenomenon, and totally deserves it's status as the world's best totally free multi platform 3D modelling software, especially when you take into account it's very own built in game engine. You can now create your 3D models, animate them, and incorporate them into your very own 3D game, all within the same application, and without having to write a single line of code....Well it's almost that easy. The problem is that Blender is well known for having the "user interface from hell". Combine that with the lack of information on using the game engine itself, and you soon see why this book is SUCH a boon for any GameBlender fan. Topics covered include using the blender interface, low poly modelling, uv mapping, armiture animation, game logic, game physics and a complete reference on the game engine's python interface. The included CD contains 10 games (with source code and help files) and blender 2.24 for all platforms. The book itself is well written & contains many illustrations (unfortunatley, all black & white - hence the 4 stars). I would have preferred more detail on some subjects, but you can't have everything ;-). In short, if you intend to use Blender's game engine, you need this book.
