Book Description
The year is 356BC and the lands of Europe are ruled by Philip II of Macedon and his son Alexander. A young man in his army's phalanx, known for its impenetrable wall of sharp pointed, 15' sarissa, Thessius becomes completely enamored by the young golden-haired boy, as does a whole army after him. As one of 45,000 men, he begins the long march with his young king to Persia, and on to India, hoping for a night alone with his beloved ruler. Alexander's first wife, Roxane of Persia, is portrayed as his murderer. Thessius tries his best to prevent Roxane from moving to her victim, but, inevitably, fate wins out and Alexander the Great dies. With the help of his friends and lover, Thessius manages to find the strength to take the long road back home.

This is a fictional story set around Alexander The Great and told from the perspective of one of his soldiers, Thessius. The story follows Alexander on his travels until his untimely death.
The story will be of interest to those with a knowledge of the young king and to those who are unaware of the legend, as this historic tale mixes fact and fiction.
All in all a great read!

In The Shadow Of Alexander is a historical fiction story set around the life of Alexander the Great and told from the perspective of one of his soldiers, Thessius.
Whilst a work of fiction, the story will be enlightening to those who are unfamiliar with the great man himself and of interest to those who follow him.
All in all a great Summer read!

Another good read for fans of soaps, romantic fiction with a capital F. ms G A Hauser a talented writer tells a good yarn. Not to confused with Mary Renault, so if you are a Renault fan this book will dissapoint as Renault keeps the reader very much in the world and era of Alexander this book is modern romance.
