Product Description

Product Description

A searchable database of 9,000 logos by keyword is available by subscription on the popular website, www logolounge.com, launched in 2002 by author Bill Gardner. If you don't have a subscription but would still like to see the best logos on the site created by top designers who often maintain low profiles, then LogoLounge 2 is for you. Recent note-worthy projects that are claiming the public spotlight are profiled in this book, which covers identities created for various industries such as airlines, networks, dot-coms, banks and fashion, as well as lesser-known boutique projects in which the designer's name is larger than the client's. The first portion of the book profiles 10 top designers and spotlights their biggest, newest campaigns. A handful of their smaller projects are also featured, including some that have never before been seen. The second half of the book contains almost 2,000 logos organised by client type.

5.0 out of 5 stars Source of Inspiration, 29 Jun 2008
By Richard Stowey "Designer" (Bristol, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Although i have not read either Logo Lounge 1 or 3, I picked up this little book in a book store looking for some inspiration regarding logos and designing new ones.

The logos are grouped together into 21 categories such as people, heads, initials, typography, shapes, animals or arts. This helps for both reference and looking up either seen logos or a type of logo you might need inspiration for.

The types of logos included within the book range from multi-national companies who most people have heard of to local and small companies which use a nice logo.

If you are looking for someone to create you a logo and using this book as a guide, each logo is indexed by design company and a directory contains the location and contact details of all designers.

The actual logos are displayed neatly, in full colour and have been printed well. For inspiration, curiosity or hunting for logo designers, this book is pretty useful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very handy little book., 21 Jul 2009
By B. Blake "Graphics Junky" (Dorset, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book serves as an excellent source of inspiration if you are stuck on ideas to get cracking. The logos are divided into categories such as Typography, People, Shapes, Animals etc. which is useful when needing to outline a brand or to show clients examples.

The layout is clear, crisp and precise and the information is easy to obtain.
The over all shape and size allows the book to sit neatly next to your Mac or in the palm of your hand, which is necessary as you will be constantly flicking through!

I liked this book so much I bought the company...well Logo Lounge 3 anyway.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, 20 Jan 2009
By B. Magalhaes - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is an index to logotypes that dont really stand out, maybe because the layout is too crowded : there are 6 logos per page in equal divided 3 columns ( 2 for logos and one for credits ), in less than A5 size.

The layout should be cleaner, and with fewer logos per page, and the credits take too much space.

It can be valuable for research, since its all categorized.
But I doubt I'll look too much into it.
