Product Description

Synopsis
Who was the mysterious stranger who helped injured Londoners during the Blitz -- and then vanished? Who was the beautiful blonde girl who blazed like a supernova on the 1970s psychedelic rock scene for a few weeks -- and then vanished? How could an astronaut have reached Mars decades before the first manned expedition to the planet finds her body there? Have all humanity's dreams of a majestic ancient Martian civilization been more than just dreams? Is the future of the human race at stake? In the grand tradition of Arthur C. Clarke, a stunning hard sf novel -- the first from internationally known astronomical artist David A. Hardy.

About the Author
"David A Hardy is internationally renowned as one of the world's leading astronomical, space and science-fiction artists. He is a Fellow, Board Member and former President of the International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA), a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society, and recipient of the Lucien Rudaux Memorial Award. In 2003 an asteroid was named after him: (13329) Davidhardy = 1998 SB32
AURORA is his first novel, but he has written (and usually illustrated) seven non-fiction books, and has worked on TV, movies and the stage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down, 27 Sep 2003
By A Customer
This is a wonderful book that just wouldn't let me put it down. Beautiful imagery, a great story well told. As with all good stories the characters came vividly to life particularly Aurora herself who is portrayed with a deep sensitivity.Mr Hardy obviously has a deep insight into the science and apperarance of our universe and I have no reservations about recomending this novel to anyone.
