Product Description

Synopsis

In Forbidden History, writer and editor J Douglas Kenyon has chosen 42 essays that have appeared in the bimonthly journal Atlantis Rising to provide readers with an overview of the core positions of key thinkers in the field of ancient mysteries and alternative history. The 17 contributors include, among others, Rand Flem-Ath, Frank Joseph, Christopher Dunn and Will Hart, all of whom challenge the scientific establishment to re-examine its underlying premises in understanding ancient civilisations and open up to the possibility of meaningful debate around alternative theories of humanity's true past. Each of the essays builds upon the work of the other contributors. Kenyon has carefully crafted his vision and selected writings in six areas: Darwinism Under Fire, Earth Changes - Sudden or Gradual, Civilisation's Greater Antiquity, Ancestors from Space, Ancient High Tech, and The Search for Lost Origins. He explores the most current ideas in the Atlantis debate, the origins of the Pyramids, and many other controversial themes.

The book serves as an excellent introduction to hitherto suppressed and alternative accounts of history as contributors raise questions about the origins of civilisation and humanity, catastrophism, and ancient technology. The collection also includes several articles that introduce, compare, contrast, and complement the theories of other notable authors in these fields, such as Zecharia Sitchin, Paul La Violette, John Michell, and John Anthony West.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Eye-Opener, 5 Jul 2009
By L. Frost (London, UK) - See all my reviews

I have found this book to be an amazing journey into the depths of ancient roots to our civilisation. Amongst other discoveries I was intriqued by the information about the pyramids of Giza, the connections between ancient wisdom and modern science, and while looking around the world through the eyes of the contributors, I was also introduced to many of the great names in this field. This book opened the door for me.
I fully recommend it to those who are looking for answers and are not happy with the widely accepted establishment views about our history.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 10 Jul 2008

This is just a quick thumbs up for the previous two reviews which sum up the book nicely. There is much food for thought and plenty of information for further reading. Some of the most interesting aspects for me were the descriptions of the ancient structures found in the pacific ocean. Undoubtedly the remnants of the lost civilisation of Lemuria that the inhabitants of Hawaii, South America and other pacific islands claim to have descended from in their 'myths'.

5.0 out of 5 stars A window into a fascinating area, 26 Jul 2007
By Keen2learn (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Having decided to explore the area of ancient mysteries and the origins of humanity I decided that this book would be the ideal way in. Gladly, this is the case. The collection of short essays on different but related topics provides a superb overview of many of the thoughts in this area. Consequently, as an introduction to further reading it is ideal but should not be underrated as a great stand alone read. I was (surprisingly) impressed with the rigour applied in each essay - the writers in each case being keenly aware of the need to present opinion in the context of evidence and reasoning. Very compelling.
