Product Description

Product Description
Most programming books are about as exciting as Bill Gates' left ear. But with this latest eye-opening release, technology author Karl Moore shows it doesn't have to be quite so dull and uninspiring. Split into eight dynamic parts, Moore's book covers every key area of real-life computer development--and promises to turn even newbie programmers into VB .NET wizards, quicker than anyone else. It's a perfect tutorial guide for those learning VB .NET from scratch or moving from VB6. Karl Moore's Visual Basic .NET: The Tutorials consists of a number of key tutorials, each dealing with a specific, "real-life" area of programming. The tutorials are broken down into easily digestible 10-page installments, with an accompanying FAQ and review sheet at the close. Numerous "top tips" are also distributed throughout the texts to aid understanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic - I am following this author!, 3 May 2003
By Matt (Michigan, U.S.) - See all my reviews
I'm not one to write reviews, but this book is fantastic. It really is. A true experience to read!
It teaches you VB.NET programming in a way I've never been taught before. It's as though you're in a class with the author Karl Moore. He provides information, prompts you to actually -think- about what you're doing and how you could make it better, ALWAYS make you laugh at his subtle wit - plus, if he doesn't teach you everything you need to know about a particular subject, he tells you exactly what you should be learning next and how to go about doing it.

He's da man! He is da MAN!!

5.0 out of 5 stars best IT book i've ever read, 15 Dec 2002
this really is the best computing book i have ever read. Not only is it for complete beginners, but also for people who (like myself) have been programming in VB6 for a while and need a quick update to start .net stuff.

honestly, buy this book, you won't regret it. Karl Moore's writing approach is a breath of fresh air! Can't wait for the next books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Karl Moore hits the nail on the head !, 24 Oct 2002
If you have been doing VB and ASP for a while you will
like this book. If you haven't you will still like this book.

Very easy to follow, simple examples and very funny.

It only scratches the surface but you'll start of knowing
nothing about .net and end up understanding how the VB.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET and WebServices jigsaw fits together.

An excellent introduction to .net and a great launchpad to
go on and learn in more detail.
