Players of White Wolf vampire games are notably hard to please when it comes to books and movies about their favourite sub-genre of horror. This book does not fail them. In this one of thirteen volumes we become increasingly well acquainted with Zoe; a young vampire, a refugee from the fallen city of 1208 Constantinople, a woman who has lost much and is in grave danger of losing her soul. Desperate for murderous revenge against the Inquisitors who killed her father, she comes under the guidance of a mad priest named Anatole. With his help can Zoe overcome her demons and her Beast? You will be cheering her on all the way.

Aside from being extremely well written by Sarah Roark (author and masochist), the book perfectly captures the very essence of the Dark Ages: Vampire game it is inspired by. All of our favourite themes are there. The book will revivify the dark passions we associate with Vampire.
