When buying a book like this I do not have high expectations. But the Dark Age Clan Novel series surprised me. The book concernes a very interesting part of the storyline and present it in an fun and entertaining way.

This book is based on the Role playing game Vampire Dark ages. And more specifically the clan Assamite whom live in and around the Muslim lands.

The Crusade has just laid waste to Constantinople but from this waste arises a Sir Hugh a venture vampire starts receiving visions telling him to attack the holy land and take it back from the Muslims. Amala, an assamite and two others are sent to insure the end to this threat but as she becomes close to Sir Hugh she starts to question his visions.

From start to finish this book is exciting has plot twists and character tension and any lovers of vampire novels will love it. The descriptions of the disciplines the vampires use are particular well done.

The hard-working writer Stefan Petrucha continues to amaze. It seems there is no end to his curiosity and skill in creating literature about subjects supernatural, historic, satirical and just plain page-turning. Dark Ages Assamite brings together two fascinating subjects--vampires and the middle ages--in a novel that grips the reader whether or not they are fans of the series of which it is part.
