Whether you aspire to write SF or any other genre, finally here's a work which goes beyond teaching the mechanics of English and formulaic plotting rules. Mike Resnick, a master mechanic of the English language, shows us all by example what it takes to edit and polish a story into an award-winning condition; how to recognise fat which needs excising, no matter how much it hurts. Not only that, you also get five superb Resnick stories (including the wonderful "The Kimosabee"). If you're serious about writing, this is the book which has been missing from your reference shelf for too long. It's a real eye-opener.
