This book has an interesting approach towards animal altruism. I feel that some of the stories were charming and touching. However, the book as a whole was rather repetitive in its content and was not written with much imagination.

The evidence for animal altruism was very anecdotal and ambiguous, so at some points i found it hard to believe that the animal was really demonstrating it. I would recommend this book to those with an open mind on the interpretation of the stories, some of which are thoroughly amusing.
