By following this book a novice will very quickly be able to produce meaningful work with Solidworks. However there is very little in the book that isn't covered in the "Getting Started Manual" found on the Solidworks programme.
I think if I had known the content I would have saved my money.
Do not buy this book until you have worked through the Manual on the Solidworks Programme.

Final year design student and i needed to learn solidworks 2001 quickly for my degree. Only had the book for a few days and im able to draw most objects.
Learning made easy by lots of pictures and diagrams, that took me through Solidworks step by step.
Go for it, its easy with the pictures :)
