This by far the worst software guide/handbook I've ever had the misfortune to purchase. I had only been using the excellent Bryce 5 for a week or so when I decided I should get some professional guidance to help me master creating exciting 3D wallpapers and renders.

The exercises are poorly written with a lack of detail, which for the most part doesn't come out as they are supposed to. My girlfriend and I both bought a copy of this naff but expensive book; and both of us had to make our own corrections to get the desired effect.

Secondly, the chapter on Metaballs is just plain inaccurate! The exercises called Metadrill, for make holes through a positive metaball simply cannot be done. You can do this with Primitive objects, but not with Metaballs. They are completely different.

I have since written to the publishers of this farcical manual and they wrote back after a few weeks saying they cannot be inaccurate because Corel (Bryce software publisher) edited the book. Somehow, I find that extremely hard to believe. How could the Bryce team read this book and fail to notice the writer's had gotten it completely wrong?

Don't waste your money. I found that Bryce 5 seemed to lend itself to self-discovery. I was creating exciting images within an hour! Besides, there are plenty of great FREE tutorials on sites all over the Internet.
