I found "3D Studio Max 4: From Objects to Animations book", very easy to pick up since I am new to 3D Studio Max 4. With clear, simple tutorials and user friendly pages makes learning easy and fun.

First when I bought the book I had thought, am I going to enjoy thgis or not and will it be hard to understand, but no I was wrong. At first you panic but then you focus on the book step-by-step you progress further and further, it takes time but as soon as you know the fundimentals you soon get to pick the rest up.

Also there's a CD included with files from the tutorials to help you complete the projects. And at a resonable price you can argue, it's simple the best guide for Beginners working steadily to Advance level.

It's really a great book to buy when studying/learning 3D Studio Max 4, a must for everybody interested.

I decided to buy this book because it states that it is for users new to 3ds max as well as advanced users. I am new to 3ds max 4 and was looking forward to getting stuck in. However, the instructions are 'wrong' in many examples - the author, it seems to me, is not using 3ds max '4' because tools that he describes in his instructions are not called the same tools that are existant in my version of 3ds max 4.

I have been trying to get through the book for the last four weeks but it is impossible to complete tasks because of the inaccuracies in the text.

A very good book for novices, 4 detailed tutorials, and I mean detailed. Good value for money. No complaints
