This book in nowhere near what it advertises to be. The illustrations are very poor black & white photos that don't really tell you anything on how to disassemble or assemble a camera or a lens. There are only 2-3 photos per camera out of which you can't make anything useful. The instructions are also very general and short. There should be many more schematics and step by step instructions for this book to be any useful. Unless you are already an experienced camera technician (and then why would you want to buy such a book anyway?) I would not recommend this as it will cause more harm than good to your Nikon camera or lens.

I totally agree with this assessment. I could find no useful information here at all. As the above reviewer stated, illustrations are of poor quality, and there are virtually no troubleshooting hints to be found.
I wish I could have seen a copy of this before I bought it, as I certainly wouldn't have purchased it.
I gave it one star, as that is as low a rating as possible.

The Nikon repair handbook deals in very general terms with nikon camera disassembly only. my main critisisms are;
1. No mention of a review of tools or equipment which the average amateur might need, or the basic simple kit needed for say, a Nikon F service.
2.The book deals mainly with taking main components apart, and little information after this. Much more detail about solving particular problems, with more numerous detailed 'exploded' drawings showing how the components relate to each other would have been preferred.
3.The book tries to cover too many different camera models, not any 1 type in depth. I was expecting much more from this publication.
My advice is save your money and use it towards your next camera service.
