I bought this book because I was misled by the word innovative in the title as I was looking for some inspiration and advice on non-traditional wedding photography.

There is nothing innovative about this book!

Even though it was printed in 1998, it might as well have been printed in 1985. The photographs are cheesy, uninspiring and dated, lots of soft focus and naff lighting.

From a technique point of view there's nothing there that you can't get from another book that is more pleasurable to look at...

I originally got this book out of the library with a couple of other wedding photography books. I didn't really take much notice of this book at first, as the others went into more technical detail and I thought that would be more useful to me. However, this book is packed with great information about photography styles and camera techniques right through to pricing your work and building a wedding album. This is one of my favourite books of this type that I have seen so far, it doesn't just concentrate on one aspect of wedding photography, such as one style or lighting set-ups etc as many other books of this type do - it holds your hand right through the process of wedding photography. I also liked the fact that it didn't just concentrate on one photography style, such as photojournalism, just because it is in fashion. It sets out at the beginning to give you all the options and explains each one. A great start for novices like me, and worth a look. It is now a valued addition to my collection of photography books.
