5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, sometimes unpleasant history of fighting breeds, 5 April 2002
By Alexandra Grönvall (Lilla Edet, Sweden) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
A thoroughly researched and informative book on the history of the fighting dogs. As owner of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier this book has helped me to better understand some of the characteristics of my favourite breed.
The book is frequently an unpleasant reminder of Man's almost incredible cruelty towards animals. Some of the passages describing dog fights and animal-baiting make quite schocking reading.
For anyone who wishes to get behind the myths and prejudice surrounding such breeds as the Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier, I warmly recommend this book.
