This book was first published in 1987 and I am lucky enough to have a signed copy. My first reading, all those years ago, was memorable from the strong feeling of validation for the Hellerwork Structural Integration training and experience I had gained upto that time. Wow! Someone can actually explain in scientific terms how this stuff works right down to a biochemical level, and not only that, he manages to maintain the joy and inspiration of it all too!

I am re-reading it right now as a refresher course for a training I am doing to become a Shaw Method swimming teacher and I am inspired and impressed once again by the way Deane Juhan is able to breathe life into explanations of some difficult and potentially very dry anatomy. All in all it is a tour de force up there with Dr. Rolf's masterpiece, and that is saying something!
