It offers ground-breaking theories on how we communicate a message as the essayists challenge the traditional theory of the message being the message, and instead bring forth a new theory on how one's life affects the way a message is interpreted. It covers many subjects of interest to readers on how we communicate through design, clothing, corporate logos, signs, teaching, and even space exploration. Communication and communication design has drastically changed in the 21st century and here, for the first time, is an analysis of how information is really shared and understood. It shows designers that they need to take responsibility for that fact that the objects they design affect the behaviours of people.

About the Author
Jorge Frascara is an internationally renowned authority on communication design. He has been president of Icograda, and chairman of art and design at the University of Alberta, Canada, where he taught visual communication design. He has worked on film animation. The author of Communication Design (2004).
