I am a first time horse owner and hoped this book would help me learn more about types of horses and how to care for them, but it wasn't until it arrived it was very apparent that it was written by an American and based on there types of horses and practises, so I returned the book, I am sure this would be very helpful to anybody from America but I would not reccomend this to anybody from the UK. Plus it is a big read and not good for quick reference.

I thought this book was wonderful! I learned so much from this book my mom let me get a Horse of my own! I would really recemend this book to advanced and first time owners!! It had many pictures that were detailed and very well put together. The way they explained everything was perfect to understand. This book gave me a better understanding of horses!!

Very disappointed with contents
if you want a book on horses try the pony club
