Diane Seed's books are always a delight to look at owing to her collaboration with the illustrator Sarah Holcome. What I like about her recipes is that they are based on what people actually cook and eat in their homes around the Mediterranean and are not over elaborate or influenced by fashion in the restaurant business. There are some lovely recipes for rice dishes that just reading them makes me definitely intend to try them. I'm not a vegetarian, but frequently have guest who are, and so am always on the look-out for nice veggie dishes: this book has numerous candidates (as does her Pasta book, which I would also recommend).
