"The Hawaiian Oracle" is designed to show how to use Hawaiian proverbs and animal symbolism for personal choices and growth. It draws on the multicultural traditions of Polynesia, presented in a tarot format: the major arcana portrays the gods and goddesses and the four suits of the minor arcana are represented by the birds, seas, lands, and animals of the islands. Hawaiian mythology describes a pantheon of gods and goddesses who have many adventures, much in the style of their Greek equivalents. The cards resonate on many levels, and readings offer a quality to gain as well as a quality to beware of (taboo is an original Polynesian word). Guidelines include information on each card, how/when to use the deck, a glossary, a comparison to Rider-Waite tarot, and six introductory spreads/interpretations that give further insight into the user's readings.
