Product Description

"Zen is not a theory, not a religion in the ordinary sense of the word, it is an experience, and a way of everyday life". The author examines Zen's religious roots, its influence on Eastern and Western culture, the transcendent moments of its practice, and some methods of meditation.

5.0 out of 5 stars What is Zen?, 18 Oct 2009
This is one of Watts' posthumous publications -edited by his son, Mark- covering not only the origins and practice of Zen, but also its influence upon both Eastern and Western culture. Watts had a way with words, enabling him to explain eastern concepts in a way which fall easily upon western ears.
