1.0 out of 5 stars nearly half the book is not about XSI, 5 Mar 2001
By A Customer
You open the book which is just over 200 pages to find that 100 of these pages is not about XSI. Its about how to design an animation and how to make an animatic. When you finally get to the parts about XSI they are poorly writen and sounds like it is just copied from the XSI manuals.

Do not buy it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars does what it intends to do!, 13 Feb 2004
Don't listen to anyone who says the book doesn't do what it's supposed to. Because it does! Anyone who wants to begin on character animation and skeletal setup in XSI should get this book. It's incredibly easy to read, and doesn't dwell on dull aspects of the modelling package, like other XSI books do.

Although many people might want to not bother 'designing' and 'storyboarding' animations, they really should. And while a good portion of the book is dedicated to this aspect of animating, there is still everything you need to know to actually 'make' the characters.

So ... advanced users, get something else, beginners who want quick results, get it!
