The other reviews of this book led me to believe this was the bible of bouldering. Unfortunately, the too-dark photos and poor grammar meant that I probably only picked up one good tip from this book - just boulder if you want to improve your climbing.

Better Bouldering covers far too few techniques; the largest sections are devoted to safety and dyno-ing (ironic?!) and scant attention is paid to the benefits of footwork, weight distribution, flagging (one picture) and so on. Generic climbing manuals focus far better on technique than this book does, so my advice is, buy one of those instead, whether you are a beginner or an experienced climber.

I first flicked through a friends copy of this book, and decided it was well worth purchasing my own copy.
The book is well laid out and offers all the tips, tricks and advice you could possible want to get into, or improve in this fantastic activity.
You can read this book, get out there and try it, then come back and read it again.
If you spend any time on the rock, or want to - this is the book for you!

i got this book as an extension to the other 'How to climb' books. i now regard it as my bouldering bible! i love the way it can help anyone, from beginners through to masters of the vertical world. the writing style was great to follow and, as with all of the books, the techniques covered are expained simply and effectively. Top banana!
